Lidiar Group Procures New Leader
Lidiar Group is delighted to welcome Justin Bone as Senior Associate – Contracts and Procurement to lead the organisation’s Contracting and Procurement Consulting team. Providing procurement strategies, process design and implementation, contracts management, as well as tender processes and bid management strategies, the team will benefit from Justin’s leadership and significant experience gained supporting major global and local brands and projects.
Lidiar Group’s Darren Cave welcomed Justin to the team, “I am delighted that Justin has joined Lidiar Group. Successful procurement and contract management strategies are vital to the successful delivery of major projects, and Justin’s experience and wealth of knowledge will be a significant asset to Lidiar Group and the projects we support on behalf of our clients.”
From commencing his career with AP Moeller – Maersk managing container depots in Australia and SE Asia, where he implemented new approaches to auditing and repair, netting significant performance and financial outcomes to leading major CAPEX projects for Thiess in the plant, materials and equipment space, Jason’s experience drives his desire for procurement to be an essential partner to project success.
“Unfortunately, procurement teams are often seen as the department that says ‘no’ rather than enabling success. Throughout my career, I have taken the approach that procurement should be a critical partner for every project, working collaboratively with designers, engineering teams and contractors to ensure the smooth and timely management of contracts, materials and supply. That doesn’t always mean saying ýes’; what it means is ensuring that procurement compliments the desired strategic outcomes of any project resulting in value for the client and ease of operation for stakeholders.”
“Dare I say it, but procurement is often seen as being one of the less interesting professions, but with global supply chains, procurement performance gates in contracts, local supply quotas, industry engagement targets, ESG frameworks and more all at play within the industry, I think it’s fair to say that procurement isn’t and certainly doesn’t have to be dull. A sound procurement strategy backed by experienced professionals with a strong understanding of markets, sectors and construction methodologies is more vital than ever and should be of interest to anyone wishing to deliver successful commercial and operational outcomes. ”
“It is an exciting time to join Lidiar Group and to lead a team of procurement professionals committed to enhancing the commercial performance of our clients’ projects through exceptional procurement strategies founded on well-reasoned advice and counsel,” said Justin.
